This zirconia alumina flap disc is a Type 29, 4-1/2 inch abrasive for grinding and finishing metal surfaces. Zirconia alumina grain provides aggressive material removal and extended disc life compared to aluminum oxide discs. The 40-grit abrasive is suited for medium-coarse stock removal and deburring applications where a smooth finish is not the primary objective.
Use for weld preparation, removing spatter, and grinding down rough edges on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Zirconia abrasive self-sharpens during use, maintaining cut rate as the disc wears. This results in consistent performance over the disc’s lifespan.
